Scottish Regional Final Winners Complete MATE ROV Design Competition

The Scottish Regional Final winners for the ROV competition - the RGU ROV team and the Dyce Academy team - participated last weekend in the MATE ROV design competition at Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Massachusetts.

Of a total of 28 participants in the University category from across USA, China and Russia the RGU team came in at 11^th place, beating some stalwarts such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology by a comfortable margin (they were placed 22^nd). Dyce Academy, who competed in the Schools category, was placed at 18^th spot of a total of 26 - performing admirably in the mission tasks, but lost out on their poster presentation.
