UK Oil and Gas: Helicopter Task Group Update

Following a meeting with the CAA, helicopter operators and beacon manufacturers on 18 June, a clearer picture emerged of the different stages involved in the reintroduction of personal locator beacons (PLBs). The industry had hoped to have the beacons reintroduced by end of July, but unfortunately this timeframe has slipped due to unforeseen technical hurdles, the details of which are explained below.
