A new multi-million pound research and testing facility will help the North East subsea sector maintain its leading position as the ‘NASA of the underwater world’. Peter McCusker reports.

After years of planning and development, new research and testing facilities have opened on Tyneside in a move which reinforce’s the region’s reputation as global subsea hotbed.

Tyne Subsea is a joint initiative between Subsea North East founder-member Bel Valves and Newcastle University and will be based on two Tyneside sites.
