Subsea UK Announces Learning Collaboration with OPITO
29 October 2009
Subsea UK is delighted to announce a collaboration with OPITO in developing a series of Subsea learning modules under the Oil and Gas Academy Petroleum Open Learning programme. These modules will be funded by the Offshore Training Foundation, a charity that is linked with OPITO which supports learning and skills development within the oil and gas industry, and are targeted at a wide audience including technicians and engineers. The modules are certified under the City & Guilds banner, and allow students to build up a series of credits on passing examinations for each module, leading to a City & Guilds Certificate. The modules can be used in a number of ways however, and can also support graduate engineers in developing key skills within targeted areas that they may require for their day-to-day work, and can also be used for staff transition between jobs, allowing skills to be developed through modular structured learning, easing the transition process, and allowing faster build-up of productivity.
The first module is due to be available by march 2010, with further modules staged afterwards through the remainder of 2010.
