Subsea search for missing rig worker

The focus of a search for a rig worker missing from a Noble jack-up working for Statoil off the UK is set to switch more to under water.

There is still no sign of the 49-year-old man who was reported missing from the Noble Lloyd Noble at 9:20pm on Tuesday.

The search was scaled back on Wednesday after the UK coastguard stood down its efforts, although other authorities and vessels continued to look for the man, who is believed to be from the Aberdeen area.
