US company Oceaneering International has won further work from Shell to provide services for the Anglo-Dutch supermajor's Appomattox deep-water US Gulf of Mexico development.

The Houston-based contractor will provide services and items to Shell for the project in the Mississippi Canyon area of the US Gulf, some 80 miles from the Louisiana coast and in 7200 feet of water.

The new contract, which follows on from work already assigned to Oceaneering for Appomattox, covers ancillary flowline hardware, including the procurement and installation of pre-lay and post-lay crossing mattresses, flowline jumper fabrication and installation, manifold installation, as well as the design, procurement, fabrication and installation of subsea buoyancy for flowline thermal expansion.
