Bibby Offshore Vessels Achieve 2.5 Million Man Hours Without LTI

18 November 2009

Two of Bibby Offshore's dive support vessels achieved significant milestones this month. The DSV Bibby Aquamarine and DSV Bibby Sapphire completed one million man hours and one & half million man hours respectively without a lost time injury (LTI).

The Aberdeen-based provider of subsea construction and IRM (inspection, repair and maintenance) services, attributed the double achievement to the focus and attention given to safety by staff and through its B2B (back to basics) safety initiative: “It is through great team work and individual awareness of hazards and risk that this milestone has been achieved in what can be a dynamic and changeable working environment”, commented director of risk and business continuity, David Forsyth. “This achievement reinforces the importance of the application of our company safety initiative, B2B”, he continued. “Congratulations to both the Bibby Aquamarine and Bibby Sapphire crews.”

Now in its second year, B2B was created to ensure the welfare of staff and clients by encouraging the management of health and safety on a task by task basis.
