Scientific Management International were delighted to host Rear Admiral Tim Hodgson, MBE, on their stand at DSEI today celebrating 20 years of uninterrupted Capability Approval from the Ministry of Defence for the design and manufacture of submarine 1st level Pressure Hull Glands. Pictured here with Keith Wells, CEO of Scientific Management International is Rear Admiral Tim Hodgson, Director of Submarine Capability.

Capability Approval is only awarded to companies that have put their products under a rigorous series of tests to ascertain their capability to deliver to stringent defence standards. These must be repeated on a 3 yearly basis, and Scientific Management International’s record is unparalleled.

A failure of a Pressure Hull Gland or other equipment that Scientific Management International supply to the MoD,
could result in a serious incident, so the mantra of ‘right first time, every time, fit and forget’ is never more relevant.

Keith Wells said "Celebrating this exceptional record with Rear Admiral Tim Hodgson was particularly fitting and I couldn’t be more delighted in welcoming him as we go into our third decade of innovation and technical excellence. Our record is as a result of the continued commitment and dedication of our staff. This is the latest in a series of significant milestones which includes 10,000 installations with zero leaks. This is how we deliver ‘fit and forget’ performance.”
