Receive up to £500k for Cutting Edge R&D

If you’re a start-up developing a world-class low carbon technology you can apply online for up to £500k in non-dilutive funding.

The Carbon Trust is awarding Applied Research Grants* to start-ups, university teams considering spin-out, new companies and in some cases, existing companies. We are looking to fund and back the leading low carbon innovators in the UK and help them develop technologies with global relevance.

You’ll need to match any funding by at least 40%, subject to state aid legislation, and you must have technical evidence supporting the feasibility of your project.
