Lunch and Learn - Sub-Saharan Africa
29 May 2018
Venue: Subsea UK Office, 30 Abercrombie Court, Arnhall Business Park, Prospect Road, Westhill, AB32 6FE
Sub-Saharan Africa offers some excellent opportunities and revenue streams in the world-wide Oil & Gas supply chain marketplace – Nigeria and Angola alone have proven oil reserves of c50 billion barrels with a current production of over 4 mbpd.
There are strong synergies with the UKCS making West Africa an obvious target for the UK service sector but the UK is grossly underrepresented in this region and is suitably primed for the deployment of western technology and expertise to increase productivity, efficiency and to improve standards and HQSE. All the major IOCs are represented in West Africa which also has many large NOCs and major contractors.
There are broadly accepted challenges of doing business in this region, but there are equally many success stories. Listen to a brief overview of this market from Reith Still – past Director of International Trade with AGCC and the founder of UK West Africa Action Group (WAAG) - more recently he has set up operations for UK service companies in West Africa which brings a unique level of private and public-sector expertise.
There will be an open discussion to follow, looking at some specific opportunities to work with government to improve business conditions and export trade.
Tickets are limited to 2 per company.
