The latest updates on Brazil from the DIT.The National Petroleum Agency’s (ANP) Special Bidding Committee (CEL) has qualified 16 companies for the 4th Production Sharing Round, a record number for this type of auction. Last year, the 2nd and 3rd Sharing Rounds had 11 and 15 qualifying, respectively. Scheduled for June 7, the 4th Round will offer the areas of Itaimbezinho, Três Marias, Dois Irmãos and Uirapuru, in the pre-salt of the Campos and Santos Basins. [Brasil Energy]
Petrobras has started the disclosure stage of two divestment opportunities (Teasers) related to the sale of its interest in refining and logistics in two geographical regions in Brazil. The model provides for the creation of two subsidiaries, one including assets from the Northeast region, and the other including assets from the South region. Petrobras intends to sell 60% of its equity interest in each of these new companies. [Petrobras]
Brazil’s pre-salt production in March totaled 1.745 million boe/day, corresponding to 54% of the overall production in the country. Some 1.396 million barrels were produced per day and 55 million of m³/day of gas by 83 wells. The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the biggest oil and natural gas producer. The Cidade de Maricá FPSO was the unit with biggest production volume. [Brasil Energy]
The Brazilian Merchant Navy Fund (FMM) celebrated its 60th anniversary. The fund has financed a total of 510 vessels in Brazilian shipyards over the last seven years. The FMM is managed by the Ministry of Transport and its main goal is to provide resources for the development of the Merchant Navy and the Brazilian shipbuilding and repair industry. The last Board of Directors of the Merchant Navy Fund (CDFMM) approved a R$ 5 billion credit line to finance more projects. [BrazilGovNews]
