29 January 2010
Hydrasun, leading provider of bespoke fluid transfer and process control solutions to the oil and gas industry has entered into a frame agreement with Bluewater Energy Services BV for the provision of umbilicals and associated products & services for its global FPSO operations. The 3 year frame agreement covers the supply of the Umbilical connection (incorporating SUTU & Topside Jumper Hang off & Pull-In head) between the moored FPSO CALM Buoy and the subsea pipeline end manifold (PLEM) controlling the efficient & effective operation of these two critical items of equipment. The agreement also includes access to Hydrasun’s wider range of Flexible Hose and Instrumentation service solutions for ongoing FPSO operations if required.
“This frame agreement allows Bluewater to achieve a more efficient and leaner procurement process - from initial enquiry through to purchase order - leading to better turnaround times on projects, cost savings and enhanced overall value for money. We have already experienced Hydrasun’s excellent service on previous projects, including the CALM Buoy projects for Turkmenistan and the Visakh Refinery in India and look forward to continuing our already good working relationship ” said Mike Fisher, Strategic Procurement Manager, Bluewater.
Craig Sangster, Sales & Marketing Director of Hydrasun commented “This award and our previous experience with Bluewater illustrates our ability to provide customers with fast track turnaround of a complete turnkey umbilical solution: from umbilical production through to end connection termination complete with stabplate integration, pressure testing, flushing & provision of a complete documentation package, adding real value to overall project delivery to the end customer.
This successful award reinforces Hydrasun’s recent commitment in investing further in their overall Umbilical and Subsea Connector’s capabilities and resources. Buoyed by increased turnover within the division to over £5m during the last financial year, Hydrasun has invested over £200k in a new 36-carrier horizontal kevlar braiding machine facilitating the addition of tensile strength members to umbilicals and jumpers, further strengthening our position within the subsea workover and intervention marketplace, whilst production capacity has been increased significantly through the provision of a second extrusion line.
Looking to the future, Hydrasun anticipate significant opportunities for continued growth in both North Sea and international markets and look forward to supporting both existing and potential customers by further enhancing our range of Umbilical and Subsea Connector solutions.
