Energy Exchange Australia (EXA) is one of the leading energy industry events in Australia, bringing together thousands of industry professionals to learn, network, connect and harness opportunities. Global Underwater Hub will be there, exhibiting on stand B26 at this established three-day annual event.
Held at Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre from Tuesday, 10 until Thursday, 12 March, EXA features a large exhibition with around 250 companies showcasing innovative solutions, technologies and services. Alongside the exhibition is a busy conference programme, including the Subsea Forum, of which Global Underwater Hub is an organising partner.
Formerly known as AOG Energy, EXA welcomes attendees from around the world keen to collaborate, network and learn.
Exhibiting in 2026
Global Underwater Hub will once again be exhibiting at the event in Perth, Australia, continuing to build relationships with strategic partners in the region and showcasing the skills and capabilities of the UK's £9.2billion underwater industry. With 50 years of experience in subsea engineering in the North Sea, expertise in oil and gas decommissioning, having played a critical role in the evolution of underwater robotics technologies and pioneered the floating offshore wind sector, the UK supply chain has much of offer colleagues in Australia.

At EXA in 2025, Global Underwater Hub cemented its connections with partners in the region by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Subsea Innovation Cluster Australia. It will see the organisations work together to grow the subsea sector in both hemispheres.

Global Underwater Hub's presence at EXA in 2026 is once again being supported by the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade, which supports businesses to invest, grow and export, creating jobs and opportunities across the country.
Stand share opportunity
For 2026, Global Underwater Hub is giving both members and non-members the opportunity to partner with it at EXA with a stand share package. Open on four sides and featuring a central lounge area with a welcoming cluster layout, stand partners will have dedicated space - including a poseur table and two stools - at the stand edge.

Why exhibit in Australia?
Australia’s offshore energy market is shifting fast. The country is balancing a strong oil and gas base with net-zero plans, which is driving new demand across subsea engineering, decommissioning, offshore wind and carbon capture.
The Global Underwater Hub Market Intelligence team has taken a close look at the Australian landscape and the opportunities emerging across the sector.
- Oil and Gas; Western Australia delivers more than half of Australia’s offshore output. Major projects are moving forward, including Scarborough, Barossa, Julimar and Crux. Scarborough aims for first LNG in late 2026 and Barossa delivered first gas in Q3 2025. Each project requires extensive subsea systems such as flowlines, manifolds and tiebacks, along with long-term inspection and maintenance work.
- Decommissioning; The national Offshore Decommissioning Roadmap outlines an AU $60 billion (around £30 billion) market. The current inventory covers more than 1,000 wells, 4,500 km of pipelines and 500 subsea structures. Key fields, including Mutineer– Exeter, Stybarrow and Griffin, are scheduled for removal by 2030, opening a significant market for subsea recovery and cutting technologies.
- Offshore Wind; The Bunbury zone in Western Australia is becoming a focal point. Feasibility licences have been issued for projects aiming for as much as 4 GW of capacity. These schemes need substantial subsea cabling, buoyancy systems and foundation engineering, creating diversification routes for underwater supply chains.
- Carbon Capture and Storage; CCS is a central part of Australia’s decarbonisation plan. Gorgon CCS has already stored more than 11 MtCO₂, although it has faced performance challenges. Future activity, including Browse CCS and new permit areas, will depend on advanced subsea compression, monitoring and transport systems.
About EXA
For over 40 years Energy Exchange Australia (EXA), previously known as AOG Energy, has cemented itself as a critical event in the oil, gas and energy market. Held annually in Perth, EXA builds on the strong legacy AOG Energy has established but with a modern outlook and new opportunities.
