Moorings Seminar - Anchors & Survey

Join Global Underwater Hub on Wednesday, 8 July 2026 for the first in a new series of focused moorings seminars designed to bring industry together around key challenges and opportunities.

The one-day event, sponsored by Mooreast, will take place in the event studio at Global Underwater Hub in Westhill, running from 8.30am until 4pm.

This is not a traditional seminar or conference. It’s designed as a working session, giving attendees the opportunity to discuss issues openly, share experience and spend time with others working across the sector.

Bringing together developers, contractors and the wider supply chain, the Anchors & Survey seminar will focus on practical discussion and collaboration around current technical and commercial challenges facing the industry.

Attendance is deliberately limited to help create a more open environment and allow for better discussion throughout the day. Early booking is recommended.

The day will centre around three themed sessions, with a strong emphasis on discussion, collaboration and networking throughout the programme.

While the exact session themes are still being developed by the steering group, proposed discussion topics include:

 - Borehole sampling in relation to anchor location and anchor choice
 - Maximising survey scope
 - Using geophysical and geotechnical data to support engineering decisions
 - Cost impacts for developers and implications for farm configuration

 - Final session themes and discussion topics will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The event

The day will feature short scene-setting inputs from industry before moving into a facilitated workshop-style format. The focus is on participation rather than presentations, with plenty of time built in for discussion and networking.

Plans are also being developed for bookable one-to-one meeting slots with attending developers, workshop leaders, members and sponsors, creating additional opportunities for focused conversations and business engagement.

Confirmed delegate lists will be circulated ahead of the event to help attendees plan meetings and networking in advance.

With limited numbers and a small-group format, the seminar is designed to encourage open conversation, peer-to-peer exchange and stronger networking opportunities than are often possible at larger conference events.

Venue Information

The seminar will take place in the event studio at Global Underwater Hub's premises in Westhill, Aberdeen.  Situated just off the A90 Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, there is ample onsite and on street parking, while Aberdeen International Airport is a 10-minute drive away and Aberdeen Railway Station is 20 minutes from the office.  A regular Stagecoach bus service connects Westhill with Aberdeen.
