Subsea Pipeline Operations Perspectives

Join Global Underwater Hub and operator personnel on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 for a focused event on Subsea Pipeline Operations, exploring the challenges and opportunities associated with late-life asset management, inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM), and life extension strategies.

The event, will take place in the event studio at Global Underwater Hub in Westhill, running from 08:30 until 13:00.

The event provides a collaborative platform to share experiences, discuss common operational and integrity challenges, and identify best practices for sustaining safe, reliable and cost-effective pipeline performance. Suppliers and technology providers will showcase innovative capabilities, solutions and case studies that support asset longevity and operational efficiency. Network with peers, gain practical insights, and discover approaches to maximise value from mature subsea infrastructure.

The event will begin with an operator panel and open Q&A, before some more technical presentations, with plenty of time made available for networking. Topics from the following themes will be covered throughout:

Data Gathering, for example

• New & emerging external inspection methods e.g. use of USVs,

• Rationalising what data requires to be obtained,

• Cost reduction opportunities.

Data Interpretation, for example

• Analysis methods,

• Use of technology (ie AI),

• Improvements on or challenges to codes.

   

Remedial Activities, for example

• Early detection tools,

• Improved materials,

• CP systems,

• Intervention isolations & barriers.

   

Beyond design life, for example

• Life extension practices,

• Emerging phenomena leading to deterioration & failure

   

Late Life Alternate routing solutions, for example

• By-passes

• Hot tapping

A call for abstracts is now open, giving you the opportunity to be part of the event programme and present within the schedule.

 

Abstracts of 200-300 words are invited on the following topics:

Venue Information

The seminar will take place in the event studio at Global Underwater Hub's premises in Westhill, Aberdeen.  Situated just off the A90 Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, there is ample onsite and on street parking, while Aberdeen International Airport is a 10-minute drive away and Aberdeen Railway Station is 20 minutes from the office.  A regular Stagecoach bus service connects Westhill with Aberdeen.
