Underwater Robotics Workshop
13 May 2025, GUH Westhill
Decades of knowledge, experience and innovation have created the underwater robotics industry we know today, with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), gliders and many more.
Technologies pioneered in the defence sector and honed by the oil and gas industry are today being applied in offshore wind and renewable energy, aquaculture, marine science, telecoms and defence, offering access, insight and intervention into the planet's seas, oceans and structures like never before.
Underwater robotic technology has evolved, and continues to evolve at pace, enabling electric and battery power, supporting smaller units, improving efficiency, enhancing range, increasing data capture and widening application.
Underwater Robotic Forum
GUH is establishing an Underwater Robotics Forum, which will support the development of the industry by positioning the UK underwater sector as an area of increased focused, support and funding in this space.
The forum will also help form the strategic direction of the underwater robotics activities delivered by GUH, helping to shape the offering into what is needed by industry and GUH members.
To establish the forum requirements, we are hosting an underwater robotics workshop and are looking for companies within the underwater robotic space, interested in participating in the forum, to submit an abstract for inclusion in the workshop.
Workshop 13 May 2025
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, 13 May 2025 at the GUH office in Westhill. (Event times TBC)
Attendance will be via successful abstract submission only. Please do NOT click the attend button above.
To submit an abstract, please do so using the link below. Deadline for submissions is 3pm on Friday, 25 April 2025.
GUH will then aim to notify the successful candidates as soon as possible after the deadline date.
Successful candidates will then be invited to attend the workshop session.
Underwater Robotic Forum – Next steps
After the workshop, invitations for forum membership will be issued, based on the outputs of the session which will determine areas of focus. Please note that companies must be GUH members to be accepted onto the forum beyond the first two meetings.
