Shining a spotlight on Global Underwater Hub (GUH) members.
GUH caught up with Stephen Ashley, Manager of Prevco Subsea's UK Office.
What does your company do, and what role does it play in the subsea industry?
Stephen: "We are a subsea engineering company, specifically involved in the design and production of subsea pressure vessels (housings).
"We enable our customers to deploy subsea, all kinds of electronics, batteries, cameras etc. A lot of our work involves ROV’s, AUV’s and increasingly defence companies."
What sets your company apart from others?
Stephen: "We are one of the few companies specialising in subsea pressure vessels and the only company with a range as big as the one we have.
"We have expertise gained by over 20yrs experience and the dependability of a specialised team."
What excites you about the future of the subsea sector over the next 10 years?
Stephen: "The industry is expanding at high rate due to more and more demand for subsea products from areas as diverse as offshore renewables, Oceanographic, subsea data centres and increasing defence budgets to meet current world threats."
How has being part of GUH supported your business?
Stephen: "As a US based company, being a member has given us better exposure to companies in the UK subsea sector and kept us informed about news and events."
How do you think GUH helps raise the profile of the subsea sector?
Stephen:: "It’s a hub dedicated to bringing together UK companies involved in the subsea industry. It encourages cross-collaboration and growth in the underwater industry across all sections of the community."
How has GUH helped support your company's goals and ability to grow?
Stephen: "Specifically, the GUH organises Subsea Expo each year in Aberdeen. We’ve exhibited at this show many times and have enjoyed the networking opportunities and have always picked up new leads and business."

We are a subsea engineering consultancy, specializing in submersible pressure vessels, instrumentation housings, junction boxes, underwater camera housings, underwater housings, subsea housings pressure relief valves and other subsea enclosures and accessories. Our leak-proof submarine pressure housings can be air-filled or pressure compensated. Underwater enclosures are often used for containing batteries, hyhones, data-loggers and other data recording and monitoring equipment. Our cans/bottles are used extensively with Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and for many other applications in the Oil and Gas Industry, Defense, Research, Environmental Monitoring and Offshore Renewables.
